That the City of Malden accept Sections 3A and 3D(a) and (b) of MGL Chapter 64G (Section 6 of Chapter 337 of the Acts 2018) imposing a 6% Excise Tax on short term rentals and other lodgings as defined by the act and a Community Impact Fee of 3 % on Professionally Run short term rentals and a 3% Community Impact Fee of 3% on short term rentals of two and three family owner occupied homes. Fifty percent of those funds generated shall be dedicated to Malden’s Community Preservation Act Affordable Housing account and the remaining fifty percent shall be dedicated to infrastructure improvements necessary to increase lead pipe service removals above 150 per year and traffic signal maintenance and upgrades.
