Mayor’s Appointment: Mark Lawhorne, 472 Highland Ave. as member of the Malden Housing Authority for term expiring May 1, 2020

Dear Members of the Council:
Pursuant to MGL Chapter 121B, Section 5, I hereby appoint Mark Lawhorne, 472 Highland Avenue, Malden, Massachusetts, as a member of the Malden Housing Authority Board, said term to commence upon his confirmation by the City Council, and to expire May 1, 2020. Mark will replace Barbara Purcell, who has retired.
Mark, a lifelong Malden resident and homeowner, has been an active member of the community as a participant on the YMCA Board of Directors, the Malden Rotary and the Malden Road Race Charity Board of Directors. I believe that Mark’s broad professional experience as well as his desire to assist our low-income and homeless families will help to more the agency forward.
