Be it hereby ordained that the Chapter 12 of the Revised Ordinances of 1991 be amended by providing for the Ordinance Committee to make recommendations to the Board of Appeal relative to granting variances.

Body

Be it hereby ordained that Chapter 12 of the Revised Ordinances of 1991 be amended by adding at the end of Section 800.4.6.1 as follows:

800.4.6.1 The City Council Ordinance Committee shall attend public hearings and shall, by vote of its members, provide a recommendation to the Board of Appeal relative to granting the requested relief and may suggest conditions, restrictions and limitations on the relief to be granted.  No vote shall be taken on any appeal, application or petition shall be taken by the Board of Appeal until a recommendation has been received from the City Council Ordinance Committee; provided that this section shall not apply when a quorum of the City Council Ordinance Committee is not present at a hearing.
