Ordered: That the Mayor be authorized file and accept grants from the state Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs for improvements to Coytemore Lea Park
Body
Whereas: Coytemore Lea Park is a community-wide asset and improvements to this facility are a City priority as evidenced in the most recent Open Space and Recreation Plan Update; and
Whereas: Coytemore Lea Park is dedicated to park and recreation purposes under M.G.L. Chapter 45, Section 14; and
Whereas: The Coyetmore Lea Park Improvement Project will greatly enhance this Playground with the installation of a new inclusive play structure to allow children with and without disabilities to play together in an assessible and nurturing environment and
Whereas: The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EOEEA) is offering reimbursable grants to cities and towns to support the preservation and restoration of urban parks through the Parkland Acquisitions and Renovations for Communities Grant Program (301 CMR 5.00); and
Whereas: The Coytemore Lea Park Project will cost a total of $200,000 (Two Hundred Thousand Dollars) and the City has allocated $64,000 in CDBG funds, in accordance with M.G.L. Chapter 44, Section 7, will appropriate the total project cost in anticipation of a grant from the EOEEA, subject to the execution of a grant agreement before the City actually obtains the appropriated amount.

1. That the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to file and accept grants from the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EOEEA); and
