Order: That the Mayor be authorized to act behalf of the city on Mass DOT Project #607446 (Infrastructure improvements to the intersection of Highland Ave., Pleasant St. and Elm St.)

Whereas: The City of Malden is desirous of promoting public safety, encouraging the health and fitness of all residents and making the community more walkable; and
Whereas: The Massachusetts Department of Transportation, through its Safe Routes to Schools program, provides funding for infrastructure improvements to promote these values; and
Whereas: The City recognizes the benefits of these infrastructure improvements; now therefore be it
Ordered: That the City participate in the state Safe Routes to Schools Program, specifically through facilitation of Mass DOT Project #607446; and be it further
Ordered: That the Mayor, acting on behalf and in the name of the city, be authorized to enter into such agreements and sign, seal, execute and deliver such documents as are required to effect the completion of said project.
