Title
Be it ordained by the Malden City Council that the Code of the City of Malden (MCC) Title 3, Chapter 08, Section 050 CLAIMS AGAINST THE CITY FOR DAMAGES TO BE DISPOSED OF BY THE CITY SOLICITOR be hereby amended by the following:
Body
- Striking ‘and such other claims as may be referred to the Committee on Finance’
- Striking ‘five hundred dollars’ and inserting ‘twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000);’ in it’s place
- Inserting at the end of the paragraph ‘This ordinance does not affect the claimant’s right to seek resolution in a court of competent jurisdiction.’
Amended to include, ‘Claims exceeding $25,000 but not more than $50,000 may be settled by the City Solicitor subject to the approval of the Committee on Finance.’
