Dear Members of the Council:
Pursuant to the City of Malden Ordinances, I am pleased to submit for your confirmation Eric Rubin, of 5 Sullivan Circle, Stoneham, Massachusetts, to fill the current opening as Director of Public Facilities for a term expiring December 31, 2018.
Mr. Rubin was selected from a pool of over twenty candidates that initially applied for the position. A six member panel narrowed the pool down to eight candidates to interview, then subsequently to three finalists. Mr. Rubin was recommended as he clearly demonstrated the right combination of leadership, communication, management, and technology skills. I believe his abilities and knowledge perfectly align with what is needed to successfully direct this department. Mr. Rubin was raised in Malden, is active in the community, and has a vested interest in Malden as a property owner.
I ask that you confirm this appointment and I am confident this is a step in the right direction toward solidifying our commitment to maintaining our public facilities. Thank you.
